Position Summary

The [Senior Manager/Associate Director], Project Development will develop utility-scale solar, storage, and wind projects {and combinations thereof) in North America from inception to site development and through financial close. This is a dynamic role in a growing organization. The [Senior Manager/Associate Director], Project Development will manage existing projects and contribute to expanding the portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Coordinate and manage day-to-day development tasks and services required to advance project from origination to ready-for-construction, including but not limited to site acquisition, permitting, and interconnection.

• Develop, track, and manage overall project schedule and budget during the development phase.

• Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and functional leads (including third parties) to coordinate project needs related to resource assessment, engineering, procurement, construction, financing, and power marketing.

• Lead or participate in technical and commercial due diligence of projects in all stages of the development phase, for acquisition, or sale.

• Coordinate all federal, state, and local permits and studies.

• As projects advance in the development process, work with other internal and external staff regarding off-take of power, project financial modeling, arrangements for finance, and construction and operations.

• Assist or lead teams responsible for detailed design and layouts of projects.

• Support or lead land acquisition and entitlement for assigned projects.

• Participate in creation of energy assessments and revenue stacking models by providing required project development inputs and assumptions.

• Support technology assessment and market intelligence to be incorporated in project designs and bids, inclusive of full understanding of project build and costs as well as operational costs.

• Participate or lead in bidding, evaluation, and procurement of certain services and contractors (environmental, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction).

• Assist or lead, as applicable, any contract review, negotiation, and management of contracts.

• Understand key financial drivers of projects (including assistance and interpretation of financial models, with understanding of project financing and corporate risk assessment and profitability objectives that drive renewable energy project development and sales).

• Monitor relevant local and federal policy development.

• Assist power origination and transactions processes with supporting development and analytical tasks.

• Assist in construction management related tasks as applicable, including review of construction documents (including supply contracts) for completeness and compliance with utility interconnect agreements, power purchase agreements, land lease agreements, environmental permits, and good industry practice.

• Work with other internal and external teams and colleagues in the development, construction, and asset management of projects.

• Responsible for regular progress and budget reporting including written and oral status updates as required to various stakeholders.

• Participate in regular team meetings over phone, video conference or in person.

• Promote incident and injury free workplace through strict adherence to health and safety.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

• A minimum of bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent experience in a related field.

• A least 3-5 years utility-scale renewable energy industry development experience with 2 years in utility-scale wind or solar and 1 year in standalone storage, including development, origination, permitting, interconnection, engineering, procurement, construction, due diligence and/or financial analysis.

• Experience with CAISO, MISO, ERCOT markets is strongly preferred.

• Keen understanding of supply and demand, policy/regulation, markets, and financial metrics that drive successful project development.

• Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.

• Organized, diligent, and able to track and manage multiple streams of information on an ongoing basis.

• Ownership of workflows to meet deadlines and budgets.

• Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.

• Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing at all organizational levels.

• Flexible and cooperative with a well-developed team spirit.

• Current driver's license and ability to travel is required. Maintain legally required insurance.

• Excellent computer skills working with various office equipment, computers and various programs including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. and the ability to effectively work on spreadsheets, word processing, networking, and e-mail programs.

• In addition to customer related business travel, employee may be required to travel monthly to the US headquarters for business purpose.
